newsstand magazines wont rotate to landscape
When I open a magazine in Newsstand on my ipad mini, the magazines will no longer rotate to landscape. Any idea how I can solve this issue?

iOS Screen Does Not Rotate

Cheers, Tom 😉
You may have inadvertently turned on orientation lock. Open Control Center by sliding up with one finger from below the bottom of the home screen. The orientation lock control is at the far right in Control Center (looks like a lock with a circular arrow around it). If that isn't in Control Center then you can use the switch on the side (optionally controls either mute or orientation lock). If orientation lock is on, the lock icon will also appear on the right side of the menu bar.
I can second Skydiver's comments. My soon to end Sports Illustrated magazine quit working in landscape orientation as well. I assumed that it was an iOS thing and not an app thing. Since I decided not to renew, I really didn't care to pursue it.
That might be, but like I said, since I didn't renew the subscription and that was the only magazine app that I had, it's not an issue for me one way or the other....but I appreciate the tip.
OT, I know, but, I have canceled my subscriptions to my local newspapers and my magazine app recently because I can read virtually everything that I care to read on their websites for free. No need to pay for the subscriptions for what I need or want to read these days.
If an app is designed to work only in one orientation go to settings> general> accessibility> assistive touch> on. To rotate screen, tap the onscreen button, then tap device, then rotate screen.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have double checked the orientation screen and have tried assistive touch. Neither solved the issue. With assistive touch, I am able to rotate the screen in portrait mode only (so upside down only). It must be the app. Thanks!
The same thing is happening to my People app. Either they've coded it to disallow landscape views or Apple has mandated that it has to be that way.
most you can do is complain to the app developer.
My New Yorker still rotates in newsstand so at least one still works.
If you turn on assistive touch you should be able to use it to rotate the screen.
You're welcome. Thanks for the feedback on assistive touch.
