Since we only know what you tell us some details would be nice. like what version of iPhoto and of the OS? are you shooting JPEG or RAW? What exactly is the problem you are having? the general answer is that all cameras that shoot JPEG are compatible - only certain RAW formats are supported and they depend on the versions of software - the current support for current software is OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Phones are supported if they mimic cameras in their photo storage
