Macbook air 2012 heat problem copying to iPhoto.

I was copying from a SD card for 32 G of pictures to my macbook air 2012, it copy to my hard drive and then I need to transfer to iPhoto.

I was fine until then when it reach 28 G the fan started to on fast and the bottom was really hot and the battery started to drain fast.

A runaway application can contribute to it getting hot and reduce the battery life; you can troubleshoot that with the article below. Your MacBook Air will continue to operate when it gets hot and the fans will run to maintain the optimal temperature to continue working for you.
