Can't download some apps

I can't find some apps in the app store although some of my friends have it..such as tumblr

It may depend on the country where you reside.

sometimes also, if you're trying to put an iPod app on an iPad (and they do work) if you do a search you default to searching for iPad only apps and you need to change your search to an iPod/iPhone one.
