Can't install Chrome or Opera on my OS X 10.5.8

Wanted to install Chromecast on my Dad's computer. Only had Safari running and needed Chrome. Downloaded Chrome but when I tried to install, it said Zero space available, but that's not true. We just reinstalled the OS and there's less than 15GB used on an 80 GB HD.

Won't let me install.

Same with Opera 23...

Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...

General requirements

* Mac computer with an Intel processor

* 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)

* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

* DVD drive for installation

* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.

Well I'm not sure where you got your information but i was able to successfully install Google Chrome on my iMac from 2004 running 10.5.8. Granted it's Version 21.0.1180.90 and you have to go to an unofficial site for the download but it works fine, it's the legit Chrome program, and is most definitely possible... Wasn't too concerned about downloading a virus considering my OS is so out of date and doubt that there would be that many viruses left out there for 10.5, just made sure that the site was reliable and went with it. Now I basically use the computer for Netflix and everything runs smoothly, save HD or now the recent UHD display. Wasn't going to take no for an answer and settle with Safari. - As for the original post... Not sure why that wouldn't let you install Chrome due to limited space.
