Q: Great number of songs not showing up in my iTunes library?

Yesterday I was trying to make a new playlist in my iTunes (on my computer), when I notices something strange. Not all of my songs were showing up in my library. I went to songs, albums, artists, and just about everywhere. I could not find them. If I go to the store and search them up, it says that they are purchased, but they are not in my library. I have synced my phone numerous times. They are still on my phone, just not on my computer. I feel like I've tried everything. I would be very grateful if I had some help. This is the second time I'm submitting this question as I got 0 replies the first time.

    Hello mlynn101,

It sounds like you are needing to download your previous purchases to your computer, but they are appearing on your iOS device just fine. You should be able to download them from your Purchases list in the iTunes Store with the following article:

    Download past purchases

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

    1. Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.

    2. Click Purchased in the Quick Links section.

    3. Select the content type that you want to download (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).

    4. Select Not in My Library to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.

    5. Find the item that you want to download. You can browse using the menu to the left. If you have more than 2,000 songs, you will see Recent Purchases instead of All Songs or Albums.

    6. Click the Download HT2519_09-movies_download_button_001-mul.png icon next to the item you want to download.

    7. If an item is already in your library, the Download icon won't appear.

You can also enable iTunes to show your purchases from other devices in the Preferences:

Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases

Display items purchased from the iTunes Store that haven’t been downloaded to your computer. These items have a Download button Cloud with an arrow pointing down next to them.

You can even turn on automatic download for your purchases on other devices so this doesn't happen again:
