I bought an iPhone 4s off of eBay, and then unlocked it from it's carrier. Now, when I try to activate it, it states that it cannot make calls or texts, and to restore from iTunes. It hasn't worked the past four times I tried. I have even updated iTunes. Also, my power button is broken, so I'm unsure how to go about restarting my device.

When you unlocked it through the former carrier did you Restore it as a new iPhone in iTunes and get the message, "Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked."?
Where are you getting this message that it can't make calls or text?
It did say that, but when I went to activate my iPhone, after I was brought to my new home screen, it told me that my iPhone could not make calls or texts, and to restore from iTunes.
