Auto-lock has only 2 minutes or 5 minutes. What happened to "never"?

Hi Plqfytr. See if you have a Profile, Settings > General > Profiles, near the bottom of the list. It might also be Device Management and Profiles. The profile may limit your ability to adjust Auto-Lock. This particularly applies to users connecting to Microsoft Exchange servers.

Are you connecting to an Exchange-based email account or your employer's network?

If yes, the administrator may be enforcing those limits as a condition to allow

the connection to their network.

Yes that worked! Somehow there was a Google app attached. I removed permission for Google and that fixed the problem. Thank you SO much! I was trying to watch a diy project and it kept cutting off!

Have you tried resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, check your Auto Lock settings again.

Imobl and skydiver are both correct. Security features can be modified/restricted by corporate and school issued ios devices. Imobl's point has nothing to do with being "networked", connected with wifi or through your cell provider. It has to do with WHAT you are accessing. For instance I connected my personal iPad's Mail app to my employer's email system (Microsoft Exchange) so I can receive my work email on my iPad. This is done behind the scenes by a software standard called ActiveSync built into Apple IOS and Microsoft Windows. Once I did this my security features were instantly tightened down on my iPad - I am now required to enter a complex password to log onto my iPad instead of a simple 4 digit code; my password expires every month and must be changed; I do not have an option to leave my iPad unlocked. The point being interfacing with certain "outside" software products that are security conscious - my employers email system in my example - have the ability to modify your IOS Settings and options available to you.

Definitely not normal, on my iPad Mini I have the normal choices of 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes, or never. Might need to do a Restore to re-install iOS, then re-load your backup, hopefully the backup is not corrupted.

Did your iPad come from another source...such as is it school or work provided? If so, they can and do lock things out. I know where I work all iDevices must have a passcode lock and the user cannot alter that.

I have the same issue but I dont use my iPad for work.

Interesting to note that you were able to delete the thing. Had they done their job properly, that should be impossible. Kudos on recapturing the fort!

That seems to be something at your end. My iPad running the latest iOS shows all the options as before.

Look to see if there is a profile attached.

Settings>Profile>Name of profile.

If there is than someone or some app has provided the security provision.

Try to Reset your settings.
