I bought a iTunes gift card a few years ago and put it towards my account. I never used it and can't find the credit anywhere. When trying to re-apply the numbers on the card it won't register. What should I do?
If you had redeemed it onto your account when you bought it then the card itself is now empty/used, it's value would have been transferred to your account. If the balance is no longer on your account (and you haven't had other accounts in the past ?) then you could check your account's purchase history to see if anything shows : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store
Did you need to scratch off the silver covering of the number e.g. could it have already been redeemed, and you are redeeming it onto your iTunes account, not trying to do so via the Apple online store ?

Yes it is a iTunes gift card that I bought from a store. There is a 16 digit code on the back that I originally put in and it was okay. I never used it for so long and when I tried to find and use it, the same 16 digit number wasn't accepted. It said it was the wrong number.
Yes I did scratch off the silver covering and put the number in when I first bought it. I did see it on my iTunes account for a while as a credit or gift card, I just never used it. I've gotten a new computer since then and updated my iTunes account. I thank you for all your help. I do still have the card. (not the receipt 🙂)
What happens when you try to redeem the card onto your account, what message do you get ?
It will ask for a pin number and none of the numbers on the card are the one's it needs.
It's an iTunes gift card, not an Apple Store gift card ? For iTunes gift card I've never been asked for a pin code, only the 16 digit code on the back of the card - or is it an emailed card ?
