Q: Remotely change password for an Mobile Active Directory account?
I am able to join Macs to our Active Directory Domain. Domain Users are able to login to a machine and I have it setup so that it creates a mobile account which caches the information so they can still login and user their account when they are not connected to the domain.
The issue that I am running into is when users try to change their password on their mac when not connected to the domain/server, it won't let them. Is there any way around this?
I'm using the latest version of Mavericks.
This is the message I am getting:
"The server is not available. Change your password when the server becomes available."
Is there a way to change the password and then have the local machine cache it and then when it reconnects to the server, it makes that change? That's how it works in windows but I can't get it to work and I've looked and tried everything I can find and I haven't been able to find a solution. Please help!
