I have MacBook Pro Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I need to update my browser, Safari version 5.1.10. There are no software updates available. Some of the websites I use keep telling me I need to update the browser. Can anyone help me with this?

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Mavericks from the Mac App Store.

How do I check the applications for compatibility? I have IPhoto 11 version 9.2.3, IMovie '11 version 9.0.4, Pages '09, version 4.1. Numbers '09 version 2.1, Key note '09 version 5.1.1 PhotoShop Elements '11. Thank you so much for your help.
