I know how frustrating it can be when your iPod has nothing on the display and it sounds like you have already done some great troubleshooting by trying to reset it. What I would recommend in this situation would be working through the troubleshooting listed in the following article. I know you have completed some of these steps already but hopefully some of the steps that you may not have done can help you get this resolved.
