iphone 4s text changed/ hacked?

HELP!!! knowledgeable friends: Has anyone had or heard of someone having their iphone text messages hacked? This evening my daughter sent me a text message. (typos left in, everything is verbatim)

This is what I received: "I fed and met out maggie, i'm gonna go grab somethin to eat and the to stay with Taylor.

I text back: "You are going to stay with Taylor"

Her response: "LOL, I never said that."

She then called me and said, "No I said I'm going to the hangout with some friends, I never said anything about Taylor". I told her to go reread her text.
She sent me a screenshot of her actual message to me: " I fed and met out maggie, i'm gunna go grab something to eat then go meet up with some frandz at the hangout, I love you
***!!???
So now, of course I'm flipping out, cuz it kinda seems like someone was wanting me to think she wasn't coming home tonight....
