Q: Got new ipad 4 now can't erase all data from old ipad2

Want to erase all data on old ipad2 because I bought a new ipad4 but it asks for Apple ID password and won't let me use password.

iPad 2, iOS 7.1.2

If "it won't let you use" your password, try resetting the password.

How do you clean every thing off your ipad? I want to restore it factory defaults - is there a way?
