Q: iMessage contacts and messages

iMessages are backed up when you back it up either through iTunes or iCloud. For iTunes it happens every time your you plug in an sync. An iCloud back up happens automatically when you are connected to Wi-Fi and are plugged into power. Also you can only block contacts from messaging back and forth. When you do that, that also blocks phone calls as well.
