Ipod nano bluetooth signal dropping

I just bought a 7th generation iPod Nano and Jaybird Freedom Sprint bluetooth headset to use while walking. It is great except...

The bluetooth signal drops the audio frequently (every 30 seconds or so) while walking briskly. I've tried various pockets and locations and it can get better or worse but is never eliminated.

Datapoints:

- Nano works fine (no skipping) with wired heaphones

- Bluetooth headset works fine on my phone, no matter how much it is jostled

Is this a known issue with the nano? Is it a faulty unit? Is the headset faulty? I assume both companies will blame the other and neither will be helpful here.

I have the same problem with the Powerbeats2 Wireless. If the iPod is in my pocket, the audio will drop out. If the iPod is on the desk, i can be up to 30ft away with no issues. I have tried troubleshooting by placing my hands over the ipod tightly and the audio will drop out. I find it hard to believe that the iPod in my pocket will cause the signal to be significantly reduced. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have the exact same problem. I'm trying to pair my iPod 7th Gen with the Jaybird Bluebuds X. The signal drops when it's in my pocket, but it plays fine when I take the iPod out and set it on the counter. They play fine with my iPhone 5, both in and out of my pocket.

Has anybody found a solution for this? I just need something very small to play music while I run, but it sounds like the nano may have a really weak bluetooth antenna.

i have the same issue, the nano is a piece of crap when it comes to bluetooth. i bought it specifically for working out and running with bluetooth headphones (expensive ones) and now i'm stuck with both and horrible quality music. it skips anytime i raise my hand (nano in pocket) or turn my head or any movement that puts something inbetween the nano and my headset.

absolutely horrible. any fixes?

I have this problem as well but I suspect that it's due to my Garmin Forerunner 610 (GPS Running watch). I have an iPod Nano 7th Gen paired to Bluebuds X. When I use the iPod Nano with a wired headset, there's no problem. When I run on an indoor track or treadmill (hence no GPS watch), it's fine. When I run outdoors with my GPS watch, I get some skipping. The GPS Watch causes more problems when locating Satellites. My solution is to use an old 4th Gen iPod Touch for running outdoors. It is a lot heavier (3.56 oz vs 1.1 oz). Fortunately my running shorts can accommodate a 3.5 inch device. A 6th generation iPod Touch would be lighter but it wouldn't fit in my short's zippered pocket in the back. I do sometimes run with a wired headset but I prefer wireless.
