Shared Calendar Not Showing Any Events On Iphone 5s

I am trying to share my wife's calendar with me so I can see her events that she creates on her phone. I see her account under icloud and I accepted it but I don't see any events. I also shared my calendar with her and her phone doesn't show any of my events that I created. Please let me know how we can share our calendar and see our events that we create. Thanks
