Q: I just received an email receipt from iTunes for a purchase I did not make $76.00. What do I do? Could it be phishing?

If the charge is not yours you may want to contact iTunes Support https://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ and your credit card company.

I just called Apple. This is phishing. 1. Apple refers to customers by their name. The email I received said Dear Apple Customers.

2. On the cancelation form they ask for credit card info. Apple has your info they would not ask you for credit card info since they already have it?

I hope this helps everyone avoid giving out info.

Did you check where it came from, what was the senders email address?

It it came from APPLESTORE.ITUNES@cotteo.localdomain.  Don't  give any credit card or PayPal to a cancelation form. If you have an apple account they already have your info. When I spoke to the rep at Apple he assured me they would not ask for that info. on a form because thay have it already. 

My receipt said if you did not order this you can cancel it. There was a link to a form that asked for my credit card info. that is when I called them.

That email address is not Apple, it's a scam.

Fellow users on these user-to-user forums cannot cancel any purchase on your account. If it's a genuine iTunes email that you've received (I assume that you have actually checked the email and your account's purchase history) then change your account's password and contact iTunes Support
