yes I tried the solution in question twice, once with a 3 network sim then a voda one. I got this error:
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

Aug 7, 2014 3:06 AM in response to hurranby stedman1,★HelpfulIf you have not received the "Congratulations your iPhone is unlocked" message when you restored it as per instructions, then the phone is not unlocked. It may take your carrier some time to complete the procedure of submitting the info on your behalf.
