That's the weird deal - Safari only crashes when starting to enter data in the google search field.

A single attempt of search, and before the word can spelled out - short pause - pin wheel - crash.

Maybe 5 browser tabs running.  Never an issue, even if 10 active.

Fully Charged battery - plugged in to A/C.

Seems I have trashed preferences in the past - exact process escapes me at the moment,

Just how critical is having 10.06.08 updated fully - is there any hinderance of it in todays current OS world?

Thanks Always.

Are reports like this a sign of bad ram?

Portion of Crashed Thread:  14 - unreal how long this portion of report is........

I try to scope out any obvious cause - guess there's just too much code to know what's right vs wrong.

If the balance of report is needed - it's available.

I'll search out points of crash - to see if broader ideas are worthy.

Apparently this is not isolated issue - Google Search - safari, EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)

Guess I'll be spending time going through those results.

I went back to using Safari - after using Chrome for a while - Chrome does a lot a cool stuff - but at a cost of frying the processor.

  • Philscbx Level 1 Level 1 (145 points)

    The other key process CFURLCACHE

    several listed -

3   com.apple.CFNetwork           0x00007fff83070404 __CFURLCache::ExecSQLStatement_NoLock(sqlite3*, char const*, int (*)(void*, int, char**, char**), void*, long) + 58

    4   com.apple.CFNetwork           0x00007fff8302fef2 _CFURLCacheTimerCallback(void*) + 227

    5   com.apple.CFNetwork           0x00007fff8304561e __CFURLCacheCreate_block_invoke_3 + 66

    Resolve for this person -

If you get time before Safari crashes - try Safari menu - Empty Cache (Command Option E).

Otherwise, with Safari closed, use Finder - Go menu - Go to Folder & copy/paste the following text

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari

A window should open, containing some folders & a file: Cache.db

Trash Cache.db & try Safari again

I just completed this process -

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari

A window should open, containing some folders & a file: Cache.db

But it wasn't fool proof - for some reason warning came up saying I wasn't allowed to do that or go there.

    I ended up at -

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari

    com.apple.Safari.Safari-Webpage-Preview-Fetcher - opens showing cache.db

We'll see -- no way of telling now - the cache file was only 25Kb - and said it previously was modified Jul 17, 2014 4:47 000PM

    Not really possible -

I'll update this thread if Google & Safari can't get along in the same box.

Best of Luck if you stopped by.

    Well - That Didn't Last Long -

Same thing - same action of google search entry - bam.

Must be getting near the end for this guy.

Crashing this soon within 24 hrs.

Guess Safari is junk at this point for any further use on 10.06.08.

The over heating scrolling down through web images - etc.   I've seen it up to almost 200F - when 160F was tops prior.
