30 PIN to HDMI not working ???

I have the 30 PIN connector plugged to the iPad.

I have the HDMI cable going from adapter to the TV.

I select the correct HDMI input in the TV.

When I play any video on my iPad instead of seeing "connected to TV" on the iPad

I still get the video on the iPad but no audio and the TV says no signal detected.

I have rebooted the iPad with no luck.

I have tried it on 2 different TV's.

Anything else I should do?

iPad, iOS 4.3.2

What model of iPad is this?

If its a first generation iPad, then it does not support screen mirroring and only certain apps have video output.

Apps like the Videos App, or the Photos App in Slideshow mode.

What are you using to play the video? The Youtube App?

Also, if your Tag line is accurate, have you tried updating your iOS version to the latest it will accept? For first generation iPads its iOS 5.1.1. for all the rest its currently iOS 7.1.2.

4.3.2. is quite old now. And may have not supported video output at the time.

What model iPad is it?

iPad 1 64 GB

Mirroring is not what I am trying to do, my problem is "video out".

What are you using to play the video?

I am using the video app that came with the iPad, not YouTube nor any other third party app.

5.1.1 is the last update offered to the iPad 1 and it does support video out via the Video app that came with it according to the Apple website.
