Q: iTunes, External Hard Drive and Synced Library
Hello,
I've tried to search for this solution but couldn't find my specific situation. I apologize if it's been answered elsewhere.
I'm running (at least) 2 Macbook Pros. I have my iTunes Library on an external hard drive so no matter what computer I'm working on, I can plug in the hard drive, and access my music. The problem I'm running into is that if I import any music into iTunes on one computer, it doesn't show up on the other computer when I access iTunes on there.
I can export the playlists, then import on the other computer, but that only works if the new songs I've added are in playlists, and it also adds duplicate playlists if they old ones exist already on that computer.
I can also export the library but I have > 16,000 songs and rebuilding libraries can be time consuming and not efficient.
Is there a better work flow for keeping both computers synced? Is there a way to be able to add music on either computer, and somehow being able to access those songs in the other cpu/library?
I'm probably missing something very elementary. Thanks in advanced!
