Using A1530 iPhone 5s in Japan

HI

Im about to visit japan and I'll need a prepaid SIM for internet. I have had a look at some brands, but many of them says they will only support A1453 models. I have had a look at the channels they use, all of them supports 4G (FDD-LTE) Band 1 (2100Mhz) and Band 3 (1700Mhz). And they all run on NTT DOCOMO network.

The brands are BMobile, Sakura Mobile and Se-Net. Will these SIM cards work on my A1530 iPhone 5s?

Thanks

Hi there s1155,

You may find the information in the article below helpful.

Many carriers offer international voice and data plans. Always contact your current carrier for details about international-roaming countries, SIMs, rates, and policies before you travel to another country. While you may not need an international plan to use voice or data roaming on your iPhone or iPad, your carrier may charge additional fees or higher data rates if you don't have an international plan.

I doubt very much that you will be able to use 4G in Japan with an A1530

As you have found out the Version for Japan using 4G is the A1453

Your iPhone will need to be unlocked by your home carrier before you can use a sim from another carrier

As long as it is unlocked you should be ok on 3G but not 4G

and if not unlocked you will have to have a roaming agreement with your home carrier
