I just updated to the newest version of Numbers. In the previous version, there was an option in the inspector to individually manage the order of the bars in a bar chart. With this recent update, it looks like that capability has been removed, at least from within the inspector. Is there a new way to do this?

Where is this option in Inspector in Numbers '09? I can't find it. To change the order of the bars, change the order of the data in the source table.

In Numbers '09, you would do the following:
1. Single click on the bar you want to move
2. Open the Inspector and click on the Chart picture
3. In the Chart tab, click on the "Series" tab
4. The third option down in the "Series" tab is labeled "Order"
5. Click on the "Order" pull-down and select the order placement you want for that particular bar in the chart
I l-o-v-e this feature and hope it is in the new version or else I'll have to continue using the previous version.

Numbers '09. Table 1 has a Header Column A for the categories. Values in a Body Row B.
Inspector > Chart Tab > Series Button > Order
Only one choice: 1
What am I doing that is different from your description? I could learn something new here!

Aha!
Plot Rows/Plot Columns button, circled in red.
Now the Inspector allows me to change the order of bars
That Row/Column choice is bottom left of the window in Numbers 3.2
But in the Numbers 3.2 Inspector, sadly no option to change the order
But thank you for teaching me something about Numbers '09 🙂

OK, Got it. How to change the order of columns in a bar graph in Numbers 3.2
Original order Apples, Bananas, Cherries, Dates with an added column C to change the order later.
Now sort the table by Column C
Bar Graph now reflects the new order Apples, Bananas, Dates, Cherries
I find this more intuitive than the Numbers '09 method.
