Q: 2 Airport Extreme's & Airplay \ AirPrint

I have 2 x Airport Extremes (5th Gen), One Upstairs and one Downstairs.  Both are connected via Ethernet to each other and to my DSL Router.

Both networks have the same SSID and I can get internet access all over the house with no problem and my devices drop off one network and onto the other without me noticing.  I have Apple TV in the Lounge and an Airplay Speaker & Air-print Printer Upstairs.

The problem I have is that I cant see my Apple TV Downstairs, when Upstairs.  Also I cant see my Air-print Printer or Airplay Speaker when Downstairs.

Basically they can only be seen on they're own network and are not passed across.

Is there any way to configure Airport on my iPAD so they all devices can be seen on both networks.

The signal quality is not good enough to use the Extremes to extend my Wireless Networks.

Any help really appreciated................

    Hello ormy1,

It may help to set your network up as a roaming network, as detailed in the article linked below.

    Allen,

The support article that you have linked provides some good basic information, but unfortunately it is about 3 years out of date for users who have Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks installed on their Macs.

The article also has no reference at all to setup using an iPhone or iPad.

Can you provide some specific instructions for ormy 1, who wants to use his iPad to configure this AirPort Extremes?

Perhaps you could also tell us when we should expect an updated support document from Apple?

    Thanks!

Brilliant Call Allen A.  The bit I was missing was the fact that My Extreme 1 needed to be connected from it's LAN port to the WAN port of my Extreme 2.  I had both connected from 2 x LAN Ports on my DSL Router to each Extreme's WAN Port, so in effect they were only connected to each other via the DSL router.  Once connected together as above, Airplay works across networks.  Can Now print from Downstairs, and Airplay to Apple TV from Upstairs.  Many Thanks..............Would never have got there without help from this forum..........
