Quicktime Error Disconnected (-3285)

i have installed QT Broadcaster 1.5.1
and latest QT release (Sept 18th 2006)

i want to record my information straight to disk
and play later

have followed the help directions from the apple online manual to no avaial.

the system says - starting broadcast - prerolling -stopping broadcast - error -3285

any thoughts?
