Windows Volume Mixer & iTunes Trouble

When I update a podcast to renew after 5-days of not listening to it, or download podcasts... my iTunes freezes up for a while, and my volume control stops working (the Windows volume mixer). When I shut one or the other down via Task Manager, it starts working. Once I update a podcast to start downloading it also (in general) freezes.

It didn't do this to this extent in the past? Any ideas? Or is this merely an update waiting to happen?

Hi PapaGiorgio,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like there is an issue where iTunes stops responding on your PC. Try the suggestions in the article below, maybe removing an older iTunes plugin or another suggestion from one of the related articles will resolve the issue for you.
