Roland TD3 Midi not working w/ Saffire Pro 24 Logic X

I'm trying to record MIDI from my Roland TD3's "MIDI Out" into the "MIDI In" on my Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 into Logic X. I've tried for a couple of weeks and it's become a sad and frustrating experience. I'm just using a MIDI cable to connect the Module to the Interface to no avail. I've tried setting up a new MIDI device on Audio/MIDI setup, (Which I've called Vdrums) and connecting it to the Pro24 (Which AMS sees automatically) but nothing happens when I click "test setup" and hit the pads. And obviously there is sound on the software instruments in Logic when I play them either. I've been all over the internet for weeks and am no closer to a solution. I've updated all drivers for my Saffire, even tried switching the Plugging into the "MIDI Out" on the saffire as someone the first batch they made was mislabeled and that didn't work either. I'm about to give away all my equipment and become Amish. Or worse, spend thousands of dollars soundproofing my basement suite and just play real drums.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

First thing... Ignore Audio MIDI setup, it is unnecessary for Logic to work. The only thing that needs to be seen in Audio-MIDI setup is that the Saffire MIDI port shows up, delete the cable and VDrum MIDI device you're created. Yes, you can go this route if you want but it's not necessary for Logic.

Next, go to the Roland TD3's MIDI setup page and make sure it's transmitting on the 5-pin DIN MIDI port, doesn't matter what channel... Ch-10 is usually reserved for drums. MIDI cable (you've tried more than one?) From MIDI OUT of the Roland to MIDI IN of the Saffire.

With Logic open/running.. you should see note names show up when you play the pads, don't worry about sounds yet, just look for note names on Logic's transport.

I tried a new MIDI cable, but nothing's different. When I connect my M-Audio Keyrig 49 USB keyboard, Logic says "The number of MIDI inputs has changed to one" and when I disconnect it Logic says it's now at zero. But nothing changes when I do the same with my Saffire, So could it be that Logic just doesn't recognize my Saffire's (for lack of a better word) MIDI-ness?

You shouldn't have to do anything in the Environment window, you said a keyboard you have works? Or is it a USB keyboard... does the keyboard have and old style 5-pin socket like the TD3, if that works it eliminates your interface and Logic.

So, when you play the TD3 nothing shows up on the transport that a note is received? Both MIDI IN and MIDI OUT show up in APS.

Is this Logic X

Delete the Logic 10 preferences file AND the shared control surfaces file.

In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button. Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder.

If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro. then delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.

Be sure to include the ~ in the above path... might want to cut and paste this: ~/Library/Preferences

Be sure to delete both files. It could be a corrupt preferences problem.

If it's Logic 9 the plist files reads something like: com.apple.logic.pro.plist
