If it is successful try booting normally.
If it only boots into Safe Mode, you have some third-party system modification causing your problems.

You can also try booting into Recovery and repair the disk using Disk Utility: OS X: About OS X Recovery
I'm not sure if this will be helpful in this situation, but Resetting NVRAM sometimes helps startup problems: About NVRAM and PRAM
This contains much of what I've already suggested, but there is a bit more if those don't fix it: Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

Aug 9, 2014 1:18 PM in response to Mike2909by Linc Davis,It's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
