New IPad not showing in managed devices

My IPad does not show up in the iTunes Managed devices section under my account settings. I have auto download turned on for apps. Is there something I am missing? I

iPad mini (Retina) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1.2

Have you downloaded anything by automatic downloads since you turned it 'on' ? Redownloading past purchases on it might also get it to show there.

I have tried that a couple of times. It is strange that I am able to buy apps form the IPad and they show up in Itunes or vice verse but the device is not listed. Oh well.

Other people have posted that it doesn't always seem to work, though it should so.

iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID :
