Q: Why does it take so long to backup my phone via iCloud?

I have to back up my iPhone because I need to do a hard restart, so I started it last night and it said 36 hours and today over 24 hours later it's still saying 21 hours to go and I'm only backing up 6.9 GB. Help

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2

My backup is taking a long time to finish.

Backing up and restoring takes time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your backup and the speed of your network, you may need more time than expected to complete the process. Using a reliable connection when backing up your device is highly recommended.
