stolen ipod, reported to police, removed from itunes account, can i still try and track it?

My ipod was stolen, serial number reported to the police and it was removed from my iTunes authorized account. iTunes/icloud password changed. I don't remember what other aps I had on it and pictures and that's main concern. Is there anyway to still try and track it through icloud, once off iTunes account by just using the serial number. I don't remember if I had 'find my ipod" turned on. I think its a gen 2 ipod touch
