Recommend a hard-shell iPad 2 case without flap?

Hi:

I’ve been looking for a good quality hard-shell case without a flap for the iPad 2. Something that’s the equivalent of a Speck case for the iPhone. All the cases I’ve found, so far, that are pretty durable have a flap for the screen.

Something equivalent to this:

Haven’t found anything yet. Any leads please would be appreciated! Cheers.

If you really want heavy duty, the OtterBox Defender is a fine choice. I have one on my iPad 3 and on my iPhone 5S. There is no flap, but the device is completely enclosed in the case and it has a built in screen protector. It also comes with a snap on a stand that covers the front of the iPad for even more protection. The stand allows for 4 different positions in which you can place the iPad.

Thanks Demo! I checked out a few of the different types of OtterBox offerings. I also found iLounge discussion forums which has a crazy amount of reviews on the topic of cases for the Ipad (and I mention it here in the event that another person searches a similar topic as mine).

I got a couple of ideas from this too:

What I’d really like though is something without a front covering -- sort of a modified Defender -- Mainly for use on younger kid’s ipads that may be dropped on occasion 🙂

That said, I had the Defender for my iPhone -- man was that a seriously rugged case. Almost too much for what I wanted -- I ended up with the Speck CandyShell because it was lower-profile and easier to get in and out of my pocked. Though the Defender is a favorite choice of people I know who really need rugged and are doing work on job sites or the like where dropping a phone is more likely to break it!

Hey guys -- much thanks for the ideas. GumDrop Case looks cool but too many “Ridges” on back.

I ended going with an Otterbox Reflex case. $25 shipped from Amazon. Looks sturdy and low-profile enough. And able to help iPad withstand drops. That said, like most of the cases I’ve found, the buttons on the side are perhaps slightly less response with the case on:
