As long as the Apple computer you are using meets the OS X 10.9 Mavericks system requirements you will be able to upgrade directly from 10.6 to 10.9. The article attached outlines the system requirements.

If you only have 2 GB RAM, you'll probably want to add RAM. Mavericks is a little slow with 2 GB.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
