Wondershare malware

Hi all I downloaded the free trial of wondershare. Then it directed me to download a plug-in for CSS encryption unscrabler or something like that. Which I downloaded even though my mac warned me the site wasn't registered, so now I'm quite worried about malware.

I was wondering how to go back to restore my whole computer with yesterday's drive? Would that get rid of any files that I have put on today that I don's want?

Can anyone help? Thanks

Windows has restore points.. for the obvious reason that it is easy to corrupt the OS.

TM has not really worked the same way.. but just do a search for how to use Time Machine as restore point.

eg OSX Restore point?

John gave an excellent example of how to install malware on your computer.. very tongue in cheek.. you should have read it before you started.

How to install adware

The actual method of uninstalling depends on the how insidious is the rubbish you installed. Sadly a lot of it is almost impossible to get rid of.. it creates links throughout the system to keep reinstalling whenever you have internet connections.

This reference at the bottom of John's article may also help.

It almost feels wrong though I have to say.. installing something to clean up the adware.. that could be.. more adware??

Good luck.
