How to open Samsung Smart Panel for CLP-315 printer

I am trying to open the Samsung Smart Panel on my Mac OS X 10.6.8 for my Samsung CLP-315 printer.

I have downloaded it from the Samsung website, installed it and an icon has appeared up in my menu bar at the top right of my screen.

However, the icon is feint, i.e. not bright. When I try to open the Smart Panel in Applications, it doesn't open. I get a split second flash of the icon on my screen, but nothing more.

What do I need to do to get the Smart Panel to open, please?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thanks for the link, Eric.

I have already tried the drivers downloaded from Samsung, but I still can't open the Smart Panel.

Interestingly my symptoms are exactly the same as those experiences by the original poster in the link you provided.

I still can't get the Smart Panel app to open. What do I need to do, please?
