Q: how do i unbrick my ipod touch 4g

i Bricked my ipod touch 4g after trying to use DFU IPSW from redsn0w to enter DFU...

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation, and the home button is broken. I was trying to enter DFU mode via the DFU IPSW method in redsn0w. This didn't work, and now my device 'appears' to be bricked. There's No way of turning the device on, the screen is black and it doesn't show up in any kind of software anymore (iTunes, redsn0w). As I have a broken home button I don't really think I can fix this, ids there anyway i can fix it or should i take it to a technician or throw it into a dustbin

Sounds like you tried jailbreaking and bricked your iPod. Go elsewhere.
Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.
Unauthorized modification of iOS has been a major source of instability, disruption of services, and other issues

Fix the home button first. you will need to do a hard reset once you do that. its not a complete loss. i bricked my 4th gen 64 gb and had to do a hard reset and install the os again. now if that doesnt work....like the other person said just buy a new one....or get a refurb.
