Aug 11, 2014 3:43 PM in response to mtarkingtonby Loner T,I use a Mac and a Xerox Workcenter 7775 3.5.1 in the office to scan documents. Xerox provides MAC drivers for free on their website.
If the Xerox supports scanning, then the Mac can scan. Look in System Preferences -> Printers and Scanners.

Aug 11, 2014 5:13 PM in response to mtarkingtonby etresoft,Here is the trick. Go to the copier and poke around on the menu. Look for an "admin" option that will print a "configuration page". Print that page. It will have all the details about the installed options and model numbers. With that, you can correctly find and setup your printer driver. It may scan to your desktop or you might have to use some other method. No way to tell from here.

Aug 11, 2014 6:53 PM in response to mtarkingtonby mtarkington,The xerox representative has said that the lack of smb support is why the Mac won't scan to the desktop from a copier.
I just find it hard to believe that there's no way...

Aug 11, 2014 7:11 PM in response to mtarkingtonby Loner T,The Xerox representative is mistaken - OS X: How to connect with File Sharing using SMB.
In Finder -> Connect to Server you can use smb://<IPAddress> and show your Xerox representative.
Mac OS X: Mounting shared folders using an smb:// URL or the mount_smbfs command
You may want to show this person these two links.
