Can't send SMS text messages from my iPhone 5S to SOME non-iPhone mobile numbers

Since I got my iPhone 5S in February 2014 I have been unable to text SOME of my friends who are non-iphone users with different providers like AT&T, Verizon, etc. I have Verizon. I send text message after text message, get my green bubbles, even get a date and time sent, but my friends never receive my messages. These friends can text me normally, but I can't even text a reply back when I receive their messages. I've been to the Verizon store and they tried a few things but basically said, sorry. I guess it's their phones. Really???

My phone seems to be the common denominator. Can anyone help?

Hi Jason,

None of these troubleshooting exercises make any sense for my problem. Some of my friends who do not have iphones can receive my text messages and SOME do NOT. The only thing I was told at the Verizon wireless store was that there was nothing wrong with my phone so it must be theirs. That was not an acceptable or was it a logical response. It's not just one person OR one provider? There has to be something else. I'm not a techie but I have been troubleshooting for months to find a common denominator which all points to my phone. I have no problems with ANY other iPhone.

I've also checked on the internet and I'm no the only iPhone customer with this issue.

How many people are you unable to send to total and can you list the providers they use? I take it you are on Verizon?

For sure I know one is Verizon, one is Sprint and two are AT&T. I'm not sure about the others but I can call and find out if necessary.

I called and asked the one I wasn't sure of and the answer is no for all of them. Never owned an iphone

If you are sending an SMS text and it shows as sent, complete with the noise, on your iPhone then the issue is either going to be with your carrier (most likely) or the carriers of the people you are sending to (less likely).

I hear you! I already went to the Verizon store AND some of the folks who are not receiving my text messages are also Verizon customers? BUT some are not.
