Is it safe to use a Verizon brand charger/cord for iPhone 5? My original Apple charger sparked when I plugged in and now plug and cord are bad.

Personally I would buy one from Apple (or even see if they would exchange the one you have) if an Apple Store was convenient, but considering that the online Apple store sell chargers made by others, I would consider Verizon's acceptable. http://store.apple.com/us/iphone/iphone-accessories/power
