"Please check your network settings. (N2.8)"

when using some apps, usually ebay, I have recently began to receive error messages and am unable to load data on the app. the error message reads "you appear to have lost network connectivity, please check your network settings. (N2.8)"

i am using an iPod touch 4th gen on the same wifi network I have been using since I bought the iPod years ago, and never had a problem with it before the past few weeks.

Help me?!

Does the iOS device work OK with other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now have same problem?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Have the same problem on other networks. iPod connects fine to the network and I am able to use safari and youtube etc, but not ebay, and if ebay is running everything else seems to mess up!?

No other apple devices on this network, but other non-apple devices are not having a problem.

Resetting iPod fixes problem temporarily, resetting router does nothing.

I will try resetting network settings and restoring from back up, but from Agzilla's reply I feel like it might be an app problem? For me it is only Ebay that is having trouble, when I close the ebay app all other apps work fine, doesnt seem like a coincidence?
