I have a iMac 20"2.66ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. And have been told by the Apple Support Dept. That my Graphics Card is broken etc. would I be able to use this computer as a screen/display only with Mac mini plugged to it?

Nope. You need to have the card replaced however considering the age and the cost of repair I would recommend considering a replacement iMac or maybe even a Mac Mini.
Thanks for the advice. I can only start this iMac in Safe Boot and wanted to make best use of an otherwise o.k. Computer. I thought that I could hook up a Mini mac to it. Yep,I think I will be looking for a new mac.
