Boot from the Windows installer DVD and use it to repair the installation. You may need to do something with rEFIt. BTW, rEFIt isn't compatible with Mavericks. You need to replace it with rEFInd.

I did try to boot with a bootable WIN7 USB stick but did not get far since the keyboard and mouse are not working. Any suggestions there?

You do not have an entry for GPT #4. Are you trying to install Bootcamp for the first time?

This looks like what you think should be Windows eventually? What version of Windows are you trying to install? Are you trying an EFI install of Win7 or a Bootcamp-assisted (CSM-BIOS) installation?

Win 7 (Prof, 64bit) had been installed for several months via Boot Camp on this Mac.

With some recovery tool called Mini Tool Data Recovery or something like that I was even able to see that the partition is still 'somewhere' around.

    Thanks,

    Manuel

It CampTuneX (or any other tool) was used to manipulate partitions, in the current state, there is no partition with Bootcamp, hence you are unable to boot.

If the tool you are using can recover deleted partitions, that is the best scenario at this point.

I use Testdisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step) to look for deleted partitions. Since there is no GPT/MBR entry, there is not much till OSX can 'see' the partition that anything can be done using OSX tools.

If you had BC in the past on the machine, your third party tool has 'lost' that partition during resizing.

From  Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions

How can a Windows partition be resized after Windows is installed?

You need to delete the Windows partition using the Boot Camp Assistant, and start over to change the size of the Windows partition. Back up your important Windows files first.
