Q: Ipod nano 7th generation is playing but I cannot hear the music

I have a 16 gb  ipod nano 7th generation.  I've followed all the instructions in syncing and all seems fine except I cannot hear the music through the earbuds, even though the ipod shows it is playing.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks shielafromgresham

    Hi shielafromgresham,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

If you are not getting any sound from your headphones on your iPod nano, I suggest reading over the information in the following article. Along with the information in the Acoustics section of the article, make sure the headphone jack is pushed completely into the headphone jack.

Follow these steps if there's no sound coming from your headphones.*

    • Verify that the headset is plugged in to the iPod .
    • Check the volume setting.
    • Try adjusting the volume by pressing the volume buttons.
    • Try another song or audio file.
    • Try another headset.
    • Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo appear.

    Issue not resolved

If the issue is still not resolved, please read this information on servicing your iPod.

    Have a great day,
