iPhone 4s power button not working but proximity is??!

Hello,

My iPhone 4s has an issue with its power button. I had it replaced because the button was completely dead and the proximity sensor was unresponsive too. Now its been replaced the proximity sensor works great and the power button clicks but nothing happens when its pressed. I should mention that my iPhone is out of warrenty too. Any ideas why it might be doing this? I'm so sick of having to use assistive touch to lock my screen and once booted down having to resort to plugging my iPhone onto charge to reboot 😟 anyone else had this issue?? Thankypu in advance

Hello angelbite11687,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue with your lock/unlock button.

Sleep/Wake button won't lock or unlock iPhone

  1. To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
  2. To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
  3. If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
  4. If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
  5. Try to lock or unlock the phone.

My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
