Q: ipod nano unresponsive

I could use some help. I have a 7th generation ipod nano that has become unresponsive.

It was working fine, I updated my music in itunes, left it alone for a few hours unplugged, came back and now it won't respond. But when I plug it in to my computer my itunes recognizes it.

Things I tried:

I have had it plugged in for the past three hours to make sure the battery is not dead.

I attempted restarting by holding the menue and power button (?)

I opened the ipod in itunes and restored it.

I also tried updating the ipod in itunes, it updated successfully.

But even through all of this the screen remains black.

Any advice?
