Burning an MP3-CD with sub-albums?

Burning an MP3-CD with sub-albums? How can I burn an MP3-CD with several sub-albums? As
far as I know iTunes can only burn a CD from a single playlist (Wiedergabeliste
in German). However, MP3-CDs can contain more than one albums with their own
playlists. Thanks in advance for any comment. Hans M

Hans,

If you sort the playlist by Album before burning, iTunes will create album folders on the MP3 CD.

Here is the gist of the article:

How to burn by album

You can create an MP3 CD that organizes songs into folders that represent an entire album. This allows you to duplicate the play order of an album on an audio CD, for example. Follow these steps:

  1. Create your playlist.
  2. Click "Album" to sort the playlist by album.
  3. The songs' play order should appear as it does on the original album. If not:
    1. Select a song.
    2. Choose Get Info from the File menu.
    3. Click the Tags tab.
    4. Modify the Track Number fields to arrange the play order.
    5. Repeat as needed.
  4. Click Burn CD.
  5. Insert a blank CD and burn the disc.

Hi Petermac87. Thank you. Now I can open these links too.

Hi Brenden,

I'm sorry, I don't get it quite. I do want to create an MP3 CD that organizes several
folders of small albums into one CD.

° I'm creating a playlist out of album-1 by pressing
mouse-right on the album-1 and selecting "Create a new playlist out of a
selection" (Ctrl+Shift+n). I don't want to change or arrange any play order
in this album-1.

° Now I add the plays of album-2 to the play list
by selecting album-2 an pressing mouse-right on album-2 and selecting "Add
to playlist". Those plays are added at the end of the first list of plays.

° If I now burn the CD I get an MP3-CD with a
single (root-)folder. However I want to be able to select those two albums and
the plays in each of them.

° So the question comes down at how to define
the two albums at the playlist of all plays of the two albums. The procedure
you indicated tells only about the arrangement of the play order.

I'm sorry, did I make myself clear?

Thank you,
Hans

Hans, Yes you are clear, but you skipped a step in your procedure.

After you have placed the content in the playlist, refer to step 2 above: "Click "Album" to sort the playlist by album."

That is what triggers the MP3 CD burning process to create album folders.

Hi ed2345, thank you. Now I know what was meant by "Click "Album"".

At the top of the playlist on the right side there is a line "Sort according to
manual order". This one I have to click and select "Album".

Many thanks to all who contributed to the solution of my question!

Hans,

Glad to hear it is all working now. Enjoy the music!
