I have hundreds of thousands of unread emails linked to my iCloud account. How do I delete them all?

I've had a 'Mac' email account since 2006 when I subscribed to MobileMe. I never really bothered to delete mail so I have literally 100's of thousands of unread emails. I'm only able to delete a couple hundred at a time. Is there a way to delete ALL my unread mail in one step?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), MBP 2.7 GHZ 16 GB RAM

Select the top or bottom e-mail, then hold down the Shift key while selecting the other end. This should highlight all the e-mails. Hit the delete key. To save hard drive space, go to the Trash mailbox and repeat.

Click on the one of the emails and then select all (command + A) and then delete (command + delete).
