Aug 13, 2014 10:51 PM in response to markstanby vazandrew,That would be airplay mirroring.
What model is your Macbook Pro (go to About This Mac - more info, if unsure)? It would need to be from 2011 or later
You would also need to be running OSX 10.8 or later

Aug 15, 2014 12:01 AM in response to markstanby vazandrew,Is airplay enabled on Apple TV and is it up to date? Is this a home, business or school network? Make sure it is set to a main network and not guest (if applicable). Try ethernet. Reboot all components.

Aug 15, 2014 8:06 AM in response to markstanby vazandrew,★HelpfulThat would indicate a connectivity issue with the laptop, are you able to use home sharing ?

Aug 15, 2014 8:41 AM in response to markstanby vazandrew,★HelpfulHome sharing is a separate function, so it being on would have no bearing on airplay. I was asking if you're able to use home sharing (Computers icon on Apple TV) as that would help to see if it's a connectivity issue with the laptop.

Aug 15, 2014 11:03 AM in response to vazandrewby markstan,hi , not sure what that is, i assumed it was home sharing on iTunes ,,, i will have a go if you give me instructions,

Aug 15, 2014 11:24 AM in response to markstanby vazandrew,Not sure of what? In your second response you said the issue was with airplay. You were also having issues connecting laptop to computer, which points to a laptop connectivity issue. I simply asked if home sharing was an issue as well, since that will confirm the laptop as the cause. Your response that home sharing is on doesn't really help since that doesn't itself have a bearing on airplay nor does it answer the question in regards to if home sharing is working on Apple TV
If you have a further question you will need to be specific.

Aug 16, 2014 7:22 AM in response to markstanby vazandrew,Again, that doesn't doesn't tell me anything ! I asked if you are able to use home sharing and yet you keep posting that it's on. Not sure how you expect to receive help if you don't give proper information. Until you choose to respond accordingly I have nothing further to add.
