How long does it take for the recovery mode on iPad4

I was trid to update my iPad and then it was freeze with "Finding the iPad" and the Apple logo said in progress but not thing move for long time.

So, I was unplug it, then tried to restart. After I connect to iTunes again it said iPad is in the recovery mode, I had click to restore my iPad as it was lead me too.

Now,I've been in recovery mode for about 2hrs+ and not sure is it normal?

On iTunes shows like this picture and on iPad has the iTunes Loge with the USB, sometime show the Apple Logo(short time)

I don't know what to do next? should I just leave it like this more longer or should I unplug and restart it again?

Thanks for any help and suggustions.

It can take a while to restore an iPad of there was a lot of content on the device and of you were restoring the backup as well. I have never had a device go onto recovery mode, but it seems to me that your iPad has been "preparing to restore" for too long. If iTunes was actually in the restore process, that would be a different story, but form what the progress bar at the top of the iTunes window indicates, the download of the software hasn't even started yet.

You certainly can't make matters worse if you eject the device and start over again, but I think, in spite of everything that I just said, I would let the process continue for a little while longer. If it continues for another hour, that's way too long, and you might as well start all over again.

Demo, Thanks so much for your suggestion.

And yes, you were right. It was something went wrong so I desided to restart my iPad and MAC again and start over again.

I think the problem was I didn't update latest version of iTunes before to update my iPad (it's the trick) Apple should has warn this trick before let the user to click update any ios 😟

Anyway, I've done to restore my iPad. 😀
